‘Legally Blonde’ musical opens tonight

Madera South Theatre Company will open its run of “Legally Blonde: The Musical” tonight.

Based on the movie "Legally Blonde," the musical shows Elle Woods transform as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal while chasing her dreams. The play will be "equal parts hilarious and heart-warming," according to Music Theatre International, which licenses performances of the play.

Shows will be 7 p.m. nightly through Sunday as well as April 5-8. A 2 p.m. matinee performance is planned for Sunday.

Tickets are $12 reserved seating, $10 adults, and will be available at the door, too. Madera South High School is at 705 W. Pecan Ave.
