Leave us alone with meat, wine
Came in and laid down on the couch a minute this morning. A doctor was on TV saying we should replace 3 percent of our protein from meat with that of vegetables or grain.
I grew up in the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Dad worked hard to put meat on the table. By the 50s we had seven at the table, and beans were common, but we also had meat.
My “Baby Boomer” group has the longest life span of any in the history of man! We ate meat. Now they want us to go back to beans. Why? They don’t want us to live that long now anyway. We are a nuisance. Let us enjoy our meat and wine. Leave us alone.
