Farinelli promises to keep working
First, let me say congratulations to Rob Poythress on being selected by the voters as the next District 3 county supervisor. It would be disingenuous of me to say the outcome of the election makes me happy — after all, I worked hard to earn a second term — but in the final analysis it is the voters who make the decision on who should represent them.
I pledge to you, those same voters, that I will continue to work hard at being your supervisor, and your board chairman, until my term ends in December. With other supervisors, I will continue to watch out for your interests as we deal with the problems of water shortages, county budgeting, preparing for orderly economic growth, and fighting gangs and other crime.
If you voted in this election, I thank you, and I urge you to vote in the November election as well, an election that will be extremely critical to the future of this nation and this state.
Remember what Plato said: “One of the penalties of not participating in politics is that you will be governed by your inferiors.”
