Feed the Bug to be this weekend

Volkswagen owners will park and camp under shade trees this weekend at Lions Town and Country Park during a two-day Feed the Bug 8 auto show to benefit the Madera Rescue Mission.

A Vintage VW Swap Meet and Camp Out starts at 8 a.m today and Sunday, and a Show and Shine will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. The show will feature awards, prizes, music, food and vendors.

Volkswagens may be registered for the show for $20 plus two cans of food. Tent camping is $25, toy hauler/motor home is $35, and a swap spot for both days is $25. Spectators may enter free if they donate two cans of food per person.

Dogs will be permitted on a leash only, and bikes and skateboards are okay. No loose animals, selling of food or beverages, weapons, alcohol or “acting a fool,” according to organizer Deutschlanders Club of Fresno.
