Matilda Torres’ Destiny Miranda tips the ball over the net to record a kill during a three-set playoff victory over Tranquillity on Tuesday at Torres.

After going through first playoff game hiccups in the first set, the Matilda Torres Toros came away with a three-set sweep over the Tranquillity Tigers in the first round of the Div. IV Central Section playoffs.

The Tigers forced extra points in the first set before the Toros won 26-24. Torres then won the second set, 25-12, and came back to win the third set, 25-20.

The Toros did their part to help the Tigers remain in the match. Torres had 13 hits out of bounds, had seven missed serves and Tranquillity had eight aces, which amounts to 28 extra points for the Tigers.
