Toros regroup for win over Stallions

The Matilda Torres Toros girls basketball team went into halftime in Wednesday’s rivalry game with the Madera South Stallions with a 21-19 lead. They used an 18-4 third quarter for a 53-35 victory to close out the regular season for both teams. 


The Stallions stayed close to the Toros in the first half, but the Toros forced 12 second half turnovers to pull away on Senior Night. 


Torres’ Sabrina Cerrillo, the only varsity senior, led the team with 18 points to go with nine rebounds and three steals. Kaylin Perez scored nine with five boards. J’Lynn Mitchell scored eight with 12 rebounds.
