The intersection of Granada Drive and Avenue 13 is now reopened to traffic.
About four months ago, Madera City Manager Arnoldo Rodriguez got a phone call that about the water waste levels increasing.
After further investigation, Rodriguez and his team concluded that a line collapsed just east of the railroad crossing at the intersection of Avenue 13 and Granada Drive. After digging to find the line, he found a large void underneath the roadway.
A couple of weeks later, another collapse was found in the line, so more repair work had to be done.
