Register to vote by May 23

Madera County Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters, Rebecca Martinez said that in order to be eligible to vote in the June 7, Consolidated Statewide Direct Primary Election, persons must register to vote by May 23.


In order to be eligible to register to vote at the Primary Election, one must be a United States Citizen, live in Madera County and be 18 years old on or before Election Day.


Since the passage of Proposition 17 in 2020, and the law was changed, individuals who are currently on parole for the conviction of a felony, may now register and vote. Know voter’s rights rights and register to vote.


Registered voters who have moved, changed their name, or wish to change their political party must re-register by May 23.

Voter registration cards are available at the County Clerk’s office (call to request a card by mail or come in), local Post Offices, local Libraries, or register to vote online at www.votemadera.com or www.registertovote.ca.gov.
