Opinion: Rhetorical TMI

Previous generations practiced considerably more discretion than I typically see in my everyday walk through life.

Talk shows like Oprah and Jerry Springer may not have invented the fundamental lack of self-restraint, but they heavily promoted it. It encourages people to, as was said in the 60s, let it all hang out!

These days, it’s apt to be described as supplying too much information or TMI for short.
