Opinion: Christmas has arrived

The last weekend before Christmas has arrived. Last-minute preparations for holiday meals, family visits and Ol’ Saint Nick are ramping up. Houses decorated with lights and figurines of the Magi welcome the reason for the season. 

Since Christmas falls on Monday this year, that makes for a proper three-day weekend. The New Year’s Day makes for two holiday weekends in a row to make merry.

On television, charitable donations are requested at every commercial break.
