MSHS student arrested for firearm possession

A Madera South High School student was taken into custody after it was discovered the student was in possession of a stolen firearm.


MSHS resource officers responded to the report of the student with a firearm on campus. The school’s security identified the student.


The student’s family was notified of the incident after the student was taken into custody.


“We would like MSHS parents and the public to know that no students were threatened during the incident and the sole suspect involved is in custody,” said Madera PD in a statement. “Furthermore, the incident did not interfere with the regular school schedule. We would like to thank the involved parties who reported the information to school officials.”
