Black Saints United recognized African-Americans in different fields throughout Madera during Sunday’s celebration.
Black Saints United hosted the third annual Black History Month Celebration over the weekend at McNally Park and it drew the biggest crowd ever.
“I had 100 chairs and every last one of them and saw about another 40-50 people standing,” said host and Madera City Councilwoman Anita Evans. “We went over the 100 I prayed for.”
Under perfect conditions Sunday, the celebration preached for diversity and unity during the hour-long celebration that included singing and a keynote message from Reverend Julius Washington.
