VISALIA — It’s one thing to advance to the championship game, but it’s another thing to play your best at the right time.
For the Matilda Torres Toros baseball team, playing their best didn’t come at the right time. They did what they needed to in advancing to the Div. V Central Section Championship game at Valley Strong Ballpark, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks Single-A Affiliate, Visalia Rawhide.
However, the top-seeded Toros gave up 16 extra baserunners (seven walks, seven errors and two hit batters) in an 8-0 loss to No. 3 seed Shafter on Friday.
