MCSO honors its veterans

With Veterans Day approaching, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office honors 38 members who have served in the military.
Out of the 38 officers who have served in the military for the MCSO, 12 served in the Army, 10 in the Marines, six with the Navy, six with the Air Force, three with National Guards, and two members of the Coast Guard.
Four officers have served 20 or more years with the military. Manuel Chaves served nine years in the U.S. Navy and 16 years in the Air Force. Raymond Litke served 22 years in the Navy, Lester Esparza served 25 years in the Air Force and Charles Shields served 20 years in the Navy.
