Liberty’s Ethan Dunn finishes off a 63-yard run during the first quarter of Friday’s victory over Chowchilla. Dunn rushed for 177 yards and threw for 118 yards.
For the third time in the 22-year history of the Liberty Hawks football team, they have finished the regular season with a 10-0 mark after a 49-27 victory over Chowchilla on Friday.
In 2022, the Hawks lost a tight 14-13 game to Shafter in the Div. VI Central Section playoffs after receiving the top seed and getting a bye.
However, in 2014, the Hawks were the dominant team and completed their only undefeated season with a Div. V Central Section champions, their third in a row. That title capped a three-year Central Section championship run that saw the Hawks go 39-2.
