Former school director counters audit results

For The Madera Tribune

Nicholas Retana.

Just as ETAA Charter School Executive Director John McClure was preparing his school’s response to the “Extraordinary” Audit conducted by FCMAT, Nicholas Retana, the former ETAA Director who was terminated in 2020 on suspicion of financial misappropriation of school funds, around $1 million worth, was preparing his own response to FCMAT. In so many words, he claims the highly esteemed educational agency was completely off track.

“All purchases are approved by my school board. That is a fact,” Retana claims.

FCMAT, however, firmly demurrers, so Retana continues his parade of the horribles. He was accused of accosting a child. Retana, once again, cried fowl.
