Jim Bryan is getting his turn in the spotlight as the 2023. Old Timer’s Day Parade Grand Marshal.

After 12 years of directing the Old Timers’ Day Parade as a member of Kiwanis, Jim Bryan is getting his turn in the spotlight as the Old Timer’s Day Parade Grand Marshal.

“They asked me to be the Grand Marshal the year after I ran it, but I didn’t want to at that time,” Bryan said. “Nick (Salinas, Old Timer’s Day parade director) asked me this year and I decided, yes. I felt like I was physically ready to do it. I am in a different frame of mind.”

The annual Old Timers’ Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. through downtown Madera and end at Courthouse Park. There will be informational and food booths at the park at the conclusion of the parade until 3 p.m.
