Flags around the government offices of the City of Madera are flying at half mast this week to honor former Mayor Santos Garcia, who passed away over the weekend.
Garcia was found unresponsive at his home. His death was a medical emergency and was unexpected.
Garcia, a lifelong Madera resident began his political career after more than 30 years working with the U.S. Post office. He retired in 2015 as a letter carrier.
