The Madera Coyotes softball team honors its six seniors after Friday’s victory over the Justin Garza Guardians. From left are Coach Melissa Armiento-van Loon, Joc Mendez, Nastasha Griffin, Nevaeh Galvan, Brianah Hamilton, Leilani Moreno-Diaz, Kaylynn Powell and Coach Judy Shaubach.

Any questions from a letdown from its previous game was erased in the first inning for the Madera Coyotes softball team in a County/Metro Athletic Conference victory over Justin Garza-Fresno in the new Coyote Softball Stadium.

The Coyotes took advantage of six first inning walks to score nine runs to set the tone in an 18-0 victory Friday on Senior Night. The Coyotes lost to the Edison-Fresno Tigers earlier in the week on an eighth-inning walk-off walk.

The Coyotes scored nine runs in the first and closed out the game with seven runs in the fourth for the victory that honored seniors Joc Mendez, Nevaeh Galvan, Leilani Moreno-Diaz, Nastasha Griffin, Brianah Hamilton and Kaylynn Powell.
