Members of the Madera City Council recognized the month of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
On behalf of the City Council and the City of Madera, Mayor Cece Gallegos presented a proclamation to Community Action Partnership of Madera County (CAPMC) acknowledging April as a month recognized nationally to raise public awareness through education to the widespread issue of sexual harassment and sexual assault that affects so many individuals whether it be directly or not, regardless of their community.
Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 1965 as a result of the Economic Opportunities Act of 1964, CAPMC has been responding to the needs of the community by delivering services through programs federally funded through the Community Services Block Grant.
