The Chowchilla-Madera County Fair proudly celebrated its historic 80th anniversary Fair, held May 7-10, marking one of the most successful fairs in the organization’s history.

This milestone year brought tremendous growth across nearly every aspect of the event, reflecting the continued strength and support of the community.

One of the highlights of the 2026 Fair was the all-time record-breaking livestock auction, which generated $1,078,747.60 in sales, demonstrating the incredible support shown to local youth exhibitors by buyers, businesses, and community members.

The 2026 Fair experienced a remarkable 42 percent increase in overall attendance, welcoming thousands of guests from throughout the region to celebrate the traditions, agriculture, entertainment, and spirit that have defined the Fair for eight decades.

Fairgoers enjoyed expanded food offerings from outstanding vendors, contributing to a 16 percent increase in food sales during the four-day event.

The carnival midway also saw tremendous success, posting a 29 percent increase in attendance under new carnival operator Butler Amusement Inc., whose exciting rides and family-friendly attractions brought new energy and excitement to the Fair.

Competitive exhibits also flourished this year, with participation increasing by 25 percent, showcasing the creativity, talent, and dedication of exhibitors throughout Madera County and beyond.

Livestock participation rose by 17 percent, further reinforcing the Fair’s deep agricultural roots and commitment to supporting youth in agriculture.

Guests also experienced the Fair’s newly renovated auction ring, which served as a centerpiece for livestock events and reflected the Fair’s ongoing investment in improving facilities for exhibitors and visitors alike.

“We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from our community, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, buyers, vendors, and fairgoers who helped make our 80th Anniversary celebration such a historic success,” said Nathan Lewis, Board President. “The momentum and excitement generated this year inspire us as we continue to grow and serve our community year-round at the Chowchilla-Madera County Fair and Event Center.”

The Chowchilla-Madera County Fair extends sincere appreciation to everyone who helped make this year unforgettable and looks forward to continuing the celebration with exciting upcoming events throughout the year.
