Wendy Alexander/The Madera Tribune Madera’s Brian Hefner will lead seven Madera and Madera South baseball players in Sunday’s City/County All-Star baseball game at Chukchansi Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Seven baseball players will represent Madera and Madera South high schools at Sunday’s City/County All-Star baseball game at Chukchansi Park in their final time wearing their school’s uniform.
The Madera Coyotes will have four representatives in the game, led by first team All-County/Metro Athletic Conference first baseman/pitcher Brian Hefner.
Joining Hefner in the game will be shortstop Tony Noriega, pitcher Brixton Gomes and outfielder/pitcher Christian Chavira.
Madera South Stallions’ first team All-CMAC players Carlos Gonzales and Caleb Bertoncini will be joined by centerfielder Jeremy Flores to represent Madera South.
Gonzales, the school’s single season hit record older, will play first base and Bertoncini, the school’s all-time hit leader, will play third. They both may see time on the mound, as well.
Div. V Valley Champions, the Liberty Hawks, will not have a representative at the game.
