I’ll complain if I want to!

This is in response to Dr. Loraine Goodwin’s letter on Feb. 7 in the Madera Tribune.

After reading your closed-minded letter. doctor, I felt compelled to respond.

Now, we could talk about the millions spent on Obama’s golf trips or his family’s trips to Martha’s Vineyard and other wonderful places, but I don’t wish to play tit for tat.

Who are you telling to shut up? Where do you get off telling the residents of Madera to shut up in regards to their views on the HSR?

Perhaps they don’t want to see it built; They are entitled to their own opinions.

The reason I’m writing this letter is to take issue with your comment on the money it takes to repair our vets. I found that to be very disrespectful!

I am a proud mother of a Marine! My son is deployed somewhere overseas, defending our freedoms, like our freedom of speech.

I pray each day for the welfare of our sons and daughters in our military. They and their families have sacrificed so much, you will never know! Our military deserves the best while they are serving, and when they get out. Your verbiage disappoints me, doctor! The billions that we are spending on the HSR could be going into mental heath, or by helping our veterans with getting a job or housing.

Don’t you serve on Madera’s behavioral board?

You can say whatever you want, but just know, so can I, courtesy of our U.S. military!
