Little League sign-ups continue

MNLL holds registration

The Madera National Little League continues registration sign-ups today at Town and Country Park’s Field 1 for both softball and baseball from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and has one more on Jan. 27. Tryouts will also be held today and Jan. 27.

For baseball, 13-year-olds try out at 10:30 am., 7-8 year olds at 11:15 a.m., 9-year-olds at 12:30 p.m., 10-year-olds at 1:45 p.m. and 11-12-year-olds at 3 p.m. on Field 1.

For softball players, 8-year-olds try out at 11:15 a.m., 9-year-olds at 12:30 p.m., 10-year-olds at 1:45 p.m., and 11-12-year-olds at 3 p.m. on Field 7.

Players must attend at lest one try out for Rookie, AAA and Majors for both softball and baseball. Baseball fees are $140 and all fees include a $60 fundraising requirement. Softball fees are $100 and includes a $40 fundraising requirement.

Official original birth certificates and a school form or proofs of residency (see MaderaNational.com for acceptable proofs of residency) from Feb. 1, 2017-Feb. 1, 2018. Students from Dixieland, Howard, John Adams, Lincoln, Sierra View, St. Joachim, Thomas Jefferson and Webster are eligible to play in MNLL.

Sign-ups for the Madera American Little League conclude today at Town and Country Park from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Late sign-ups begin Jan. 27 through Feb. 3 at tryouts. The league will host four tryouts and all players, ages 7-12 must attend two of the tryouts.

Tryouts begin Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. for 7-8-year-olds; 11:30 a.m. for 9-10-year-olds and 1 p.m. for 11-12-year-olds. The times will be the same for the Feb. 3 tryouts. The league will also hold tryouts Jan. 30 and 31, beginning at 5 p.m. for 7-8-year-olds and continue through 9-10-year-olds at 6 p.m. and 11-12-year olds at 7 p.m.

Lage registration fee is $175 with a $10 discount for each sibling, cash only. The price includes 20 raffle tickets for the carnival. Fees can also be paid online at maderaamerican.com using a Paypal account.

Parents need to bring an original birth certificate and a proof of addresses from a number of records. See the league’s website for details.

Students from Berenda, Sherman Thomas, Ezequiel Tafoya Alvarado Academy, Nishimoto, James Monroe, Washington, Sierra Vista, Millview, Desmond, Alpha, Ceasar Chavez, Madison, Parkwood, Eastin-Arcola, Pershing, La Vina, Martin Luther King Middle School and Virginia Lee Rose are eligible for Madera American.
