Missing Coarsegold child found
This story has been updated as of Tuesday evening, Oct. 31.
A search for a 3-year-old Coarsegold girl who appeared to have been abducted by an aunt visiting from Utah ended Tuesday after they were found in Las Vegas.
A silver alert had been issued for Chyanne O’Conner, 31, who allegedly disappeared with her niece Graesky Johnson on Monday, according to Madera County Sheriff’s Officer Kayla Serratto.
Graesky had no reported injuries and was taken into protective custody.
Shortly after 8 p.m. Monday, Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a call on the possible abduction. Deputies were told that O’Conner had visited her sister and family in Coarsegold, and left the home with Graesky in the afternoon without asking her parents’ permission. O’Conner has a medical condition that may cause her to become disoriented.
Investigation revealed O’Conner may have had automotive trouble or ran out of gas near Tulare on Monday night; an image of O’Conner and Graesky was captured by a store surveillance camera.
Sheriff's detectives will continue their investigation into the details surrounding the incident.
