Coyotes survive scare from Stallions

The Madera Coyotes boys water polo team looked to take an early victory in its match against the Madera South Stallions at Madera South.
However, the Stallions outscored the Coyotes 7-6 after the first period. Even so, the Coyotes prevailed 10-7 on Wednesday.
Robert Niino, Ernesto Solis, Marc Martinez and Conner Huber each scored a pair of goals for the Coyotes.
Jared Guglielmana led the Stallions with three goals and Manuel Mora added two more.
Madera jumped to a 4-0 lead after the first period and five different players scored for the Coyotes. After Madera led 5-0 in the second period, Madera South added a pair of goals before halftime.
Madera extended its lead with goals from Martinez and Martines. After a Guglielmana goal, Huber added one with 56 seconds left in the third.
Madera South came back with a Guglielmana goal with 14 seconds left, but Madera beat the buzzer with a Niino goal with 1.4 seconds left in the third.
Madera South made things interesting with goals from Guglielmana and Mora to cut the lead to three.
Madera’s Ernesto Solis scored with 1:12 left in the match to extend the lead to four before Jacob Bravo took advantage of a five-meter shot for a goal with 26 seconds left for the Stallions for the 10-7 final.
