Madera County crime log for Sept. 4-10
The following are incidents reported by the Madera County Sheriff’s Department from Sept. 4 to 8.
Monday, Sept. 4
1:30 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Avenue 11 1/4 in Madera regarding a welfare check for a possible suicidal subject. Deputy contacted subject and placed her on a 72-hour hold pursuant 5150.
10:30 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to a property located in the 18000 block of Road 10 1/2 in Chowchilla regarding a report of the theft of hay. No arrest was made, suspect is unknown. The case was forwarded to AG Detectives for review.
3:59 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 24000 block of Tropical Drive in Madera regarding a juvenile who attacked a family member. An investigation was completed and a report was written. Subject was placed on a 5150 hold. Case was closed.
Tuesday, Sept. 5
9:16 a.m. — Deputy saw a male subject riding a motorcycle in the area of Road 225 and Douglas Ranger Station Road in North Fork where a road closer was in place. The subject pulled the motorcycle to the shoulder of the roadway and ran from the area. Subject was later located and found to have an outstanding felony no-bail warrant. The male was arrested and booked into the Madera County Department of Correction on his outstanding felony warrant.
10:01 a.m. — Deputies responded to the 29000 block of Diane Way in Madera regarding fraudulent activity. The victim learned their Social Security number was being used by an unknown subject. A crime report was generated.
12:35 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the area of Route 49 and Woman Road in Mariposa County regarding threats to a sheriff’s volunteer. The suspect had an outstanding warrant and was cited. The case was closed.
5:23 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 29000 block of Deer Trail Lane in Coarsegold regarding a juvenile female who was combative and had cut herself. A protective hold was placed on the female and the case was closed.
Wednesday, Sept. 6
2:09 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched via telephone to 10000 block of State Route 152 in Chowchilla regarding the theft of a tractor. The tractor was entered into NCIC using the serial number and a report was written.
5:44 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to State Route 41 and Road 632 in Oakhurst regarding a subject known as a counterfeiter. Upon arrival deputies conducted an investigation and learned that the suspect was in possession of personal documents from multiple people. Subject was also in possession of a concealed dagger and methamphetamine. Subject was arrested and transported to Madera Department of Corrections without incident. Case was forwarded to detectives for additional follow up.
6:53 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in Coarsegold regarding a drowning subject. Deputy responded code 3 and upon arrival the subject had passed away. The subject was transported to the Madera County Coroner’s Office. This case was forwarded to the Deputy Coroner for further investigation.
Thursday, Sept. 7
8:51 p.m. — Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Road 23 1/2 regarding a report of a domestic disturbance. An EPO was granted for the victim. Photos of the victim’s injuries were taken and submitted into evidence. A report was written and forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.
Friday, Sept. 8
12:31 a.m. — Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Fern Street in Madera regarding a report of a possible child molestation. A report was written and forwarded to the Detectives Division for review.
11:1 a.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the area of Golden Ball Drive cross of Road 426 in Oakhurst regarding two small children walking along a busy roadway. The juveniles were contacted and turned over to the parents. Case was forwarded to the Madera County Child Protective Services for review.
Saturday, Sept. 9
8:54 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 24000 block of Avenue 18 in Madera for a report of a burglary to a commercial business. A paint sprayer and a spray gun were taken from inside the business. A report was written for documentation.
12:37 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to a car dealership in the 10000 block of Highway 41 in Madera for a report of a stolen vehicle. The reporting party provided the suspect’s information. Case was forwarded to detectives for further investigation.
Sunday, Sept. 10
12:03 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 23000 block of Avenue 9 in Madera for a report of a subject stating that they looked over the neighbor’s fence and saw that he was growing marijuana in his backyard. Deputy responded and confirmed that marijuana plants were being grown. A report was written and forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Marijuana Detectives for follow up.
