Young Jr. has 3 hits, leads Salt Lake to 12-9 win over Fresno Grizzlies
FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Eric Young Jr., Ramon Flores, Sherman Johnson and Matt Williams recorded three hits each, as Salt Lake beat the Fresno Grizzlies 12-9 on Monday.
Flores doubled and singled twice, scoring a pair of runs while also driving home a couple.
Salt Lake started the scoring in the second inning when Rey Navarro hit a two-run home run.
The Bees later added four runs in the third and three in the fourth and eighth to secure the victory.
Salt Lake starter Troy Scribner (2-0) picked up the win despite allowing three runs and six hits over five innings. Opposing starter Keegan Yuhl (1-3) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed nine runs and 10 hits over four innings.
Colin Moran homered and singled, driving home three runs and scoring a couple for the Grizzlies.
With the win, Salt Lake improved to 5-1 against Fresno this season.
