Evans' single leads Las Vegas to 6-1 win over Fresno Grizzlies
FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Phillip Evans hit a run-scoring single in the second inning, leading the Las Vegas 51s to a 6-1 win over the Fresno Grizzlies on Tuesday.
The single by Evans started the scoring in a five-run inning and gave the 51s a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Matt Reynolds drew a bases-loaded walk and then scored on a bases-clearing double by T.J. Rivera.
Las Vegas right-hander Donovan Hand (1-2) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on seven hits over six innings. Opposing starter Keegan Yuhl (1-2) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and seven hits over five innings.
