Cadena, Rieping to wed

Viviana Cadena Ruiz and John Rieping plan to unite in holy matrimony this spring.
Viviana Cadena Ruiz and John Rieping will unite in holy matrimony on May 13, 2017.
The wedding will begin with Mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Sierra Catholic Church in Oakhurst. Rev. Joel Davadilla will celebrate the Mass.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Luis Cadena and Elizabeth Ruiz de Cadena, both of Bogota, Colombia. Her fiancé is the son of Joseph Rieping and the late Theresa Rieping, both of Madera.
The maid of honor will be Bernadette Rodarte with Joshua Rieping as the groom’s best man. Bernard Rieping, the groom’s brother, will lead the choir. Sebastian Rodarte will be the ring bearer and Kiara Rodarte as the flower girl. Jim Bryan will emcee the reception at Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp.
After their honeymoon, the newlyweds will make their home in Madera.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of University of the Andes (Colombia) with a bachelor of science degree in biology, and a 2007 graduate of Brock University (Canada) with a master of science degree in physiology and neurobiology.
The groom is a 1992 graduate of Madera High School, a 1999 graduate of Mount Angel Seminary with a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy, and a journalism alumnus of Drake University in Iowa. He attended St. Joachim Elementary School and is a Knight of Columbus.
The bride is a PhD student of physiology and neurobiology at Brock and an honorary research fellow with the University of Melbourne (Australia). The groom is a senior writer, photographer, and webmaster for Madera Printing and Publishing.
