Men found guilty in Fresno drive-by shooting

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Two young men have been found guilty of a Fresno drive-by shooting that wounded a teenage boy as he tried to protect his younger brother.

The bullet went through victim Jeremiah Hawkins' jaw while he was walking in a neighborhood with his younger brother last summer.

A jury convicted a 15-year-old male of assault with a firearm and found 20-year-old D'Edward Tucker guilty of related crimes.

Jurors say the shooting was gang-related.

A third defendant, 22-year-old Jaishawn Young, pleaded guilty to assault. His lawyer says he will be sentenced to seven years in prison.

According to court records, minor was also tried in Juvenile Court and found guilty of possession of a firearm.
