Nearly 300 arrests made in human trafficking crackdown

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities have arrested nearly 300 people in a crackdown on human trafficking in Los Angeles County.

City News Service says the arrests from last Wednesday through Saturday included more than 150 for prostitution.

Los Angeles police say authorities also rescued two sexually exploited adults and eight youths under the age of 18. The youths are in protective custody.

The operation was conducted by a regional task force, an FBI task force, the LAPD and the county district attorney's office and probation department.
