District 10 Challengers to play in World Series

The Little League Intermediate World Series announced an invitation to the Challenger teams of the District 10 and 19 little leagues to participate in an exhibition game in Livermore on Aug. 6.
The District 10 Little League team is based in Madera will travel to Livermore and play District 19 out of Covina before the International Championship game and the USA championship game.
The challenger division in Little League started in 1989 and allows individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities to enjoy the full benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to their abilities.
The district is looking to raise $3,500 to send its players to Livermore for the tournament. Through its GoFundMe page, the team has raised just $390 of its goal. To help the team, visit www.gofundme.com/2eh4n9ak.
Last year, more than 40,000 people visited Max Baer Park in Livermore for the third annual Little League Intermediate World Series. The World Series features 11 teams frrom around the world and begins today through Aug. 7.
