Haniger, O'Brien lead the way for Reno

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Mitch Haniger homered and singled twice, driving in three runs as the Reno Aces beat the FresnoGrizzlies 9-4 on Friday.

Peter O'Brien homered and singled with four RBIs for Reno.

Reno went up 4-0 in the second after Dan Rohlfing hit an RBI single and then scored on a two-run single by Haniger.

After Reno added two runs in the fifth on a home run by O'Brien, the Grizzlies cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Tyler White hit a grand slam.

Reno starter Edwin Escobar (5-2) picked up the win despite allowing four runs over 5 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Tommy Shirley (7-5) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and nine hits over 4 1/3 innings.

For the Grizzlies, Teoscar Hernandez doubled and singled.
