Cooling centers opened
In order to combat a coming heat wave in the San Joaquin Valley, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office has opened a series of cooling stations.
According to Cmdr. Bill Ward, these stations, eight in total, offer air conditioning for those without it in their homes.
Four of these stations are located in the mountain areas of Madera County, including:
