The Madera Coyote boys soccer team took care of business with a 1-0 victory over the No. 4 Sunnyside-Fresno Wildcats to set up a match for the County/Metro Athletic Conference title tonight in Memorial Stadium.
The Coyotes (14-5-6, 6-2-1) will battle the Bullard-Fresno Knights, who they are tied with for first, tonight on Senior Night with the CMAC title at stake. Also at stake could be Madera’s first league championship since the Coyotes won a Tri-River Athletic Conference co-championship with Clovis West in 2001.
“It doesn’t get any better than that,” head coach Chris Baca said. “That’s what it comes down to. Win and we get the title. I feel more confident this year. It’s pretty nice to head in with a chance for the title.”
