Fresno Pacific women’s soccer player Ana Walker (Madera South) scored her first collegiate goal Thursday in a 4-0 victory over Chaminade. Defender Brianna Reyes (Madera) started the past three games for the Sunbirds and had three shots on goal. Walker also started two of the last three games for the Sunbirds.

Jacksonville University goalkeeper Sarah Sierra (Madera) recorded a save in a 2-0 women’s soccer shutout over Lipsomb University on Oct. 11. Sierra also recorded six saves in a 3-2 win over Northern Kentucky on Sunday in Athletic Sun Conference play.

Justin Weldon (Liberty) had six punts for a 46.2-yard average with four inside the 20-yard line in a 39-38 football loss to Northern Arizona on Oct. 12 for Sacramento State. Ben Cowger (Liberty) also had a tackle in the loss.

Weldon is third in the Big Sky Conference in punting with a 45.4 average. He is third for most punts and second in punting distance while having the third longest punt in the conference (68 yards). Weldon was also featured on the cover of Sacramento State’s most recent football program...
