It was a historic night for the LoanMart Madera Speedway on Saturday night as it hosted its first-ever race pitting Winged Sprint Cars against Super Modifieds in the Inaugural Pabst Blue Ribbon Winged World Series.
Kyle Vanderpool, a young up-and-coming driver at 25 would take the checkered flag in the race from his orange and white No. 3 super modified racer, outdoing his next closest opponent, Eric Silsby in the No. 6 super modified, by over 4 seconds.
“It feels great to get the win,” Vanderpool said. “Silsby’s a great racer and I knew he was coming up, but I knew I just had to fend him off.”
