TVA hosts beach championship

For the second year, the Landon Courts at the Triumph Volleyball Academy hosted the Beach Cup Championships pitting four sand volleyball clubs together.

Clubs featuring players for Clovis, Clovis West, Buchanan, Sanger and Madera South high schools battled to find out who had the best teams Thursday morning.

“We’re very excited about it,” TVA founder Steve Guglielmana said. “It’s going well and we have a better turnout this year. We see the sport of beach volleyball growing.”

“This year, we have five different high schools represented by their beach clubs,” said Nate Perez, TVA youth league coordinator and Madera South girls volleyball coach. “We’ve had six different clubs from different demographics, cities and leagues and have had an opportunity to play in the past two years.” ...
