While the headlines might go to other members of the track and field teams, Madera’s Evan Whitlock and Madera South’s Luis Aguilar are hoping to make their mark when it counts.

Whitlock’s 11.06 time in the 100-meter dash, set two weeks ago in Memorial Stadium is the fastest time run by a Madera Coyote since Ronald McCree in 1986.

Aguilar’s long shot put of 53 feet, one inch, set last week is a school record.
