The Thomas Jefferson Patriots baseball team shut down Sanger on Monday to win the Central Valley Athletic League championship at Thomas Jefferson.

Mikey Alvarez hit a two-run home run in the first inning and tossed a complete game three-hitter in a 4-1 Thomas Jefferson victory.

Nathan Salas scored a run in the first inning on an RBI from Jaylen Neal. Caleb Pursell added a run in the fourth, scoing on an Adam Medellin single.

Alvarez struck out 12 in the win and walked four. He allowed an unearned run in the fourth and cruised to the victory.
