After an extended spring break off due to rain last week, the Thomas Jefferson Middle School seventh and eighth grade baseball teams posted shutouts over crosstown rival Desmond Middle School on Monday.
Arthur Martinez and Jordan Wilkins combined for a two-hit shutout for the eighth grade team. Brady Hall had a one-out, run-scoring double in the second and Nick Zamora hit a two-run double in the third in the 1-0 victory.
The Patriots didn’t commit an error and turned a double play.
They will now turn their attention to Kerman Middle School today for sole possession of first place. Kerman and Thomas Jefferson are tied for first place in the Central Valley Athletic League...
