Tigers too much for Stallions

Facing an athletic and quick Edison-Fresno football team, it was the big back-breaking plays that did in Madera South High School in its second County/Metro Athletic Conference game of the season.

The Tigers (4-3, 1-1 CMAC) scored four momentum-shifting touchdowns Friday night — including three that went for more than 45 yards — to hand the Stallions (0-7, 0-2) a 44-19 loss at Memorial Stadium.

The Stallions showed they clearly came ready to play after suffering a disastrous 59-0 loss to Bullard in their CMAC opener on Oct. 12.

Against Edison, Madera South led 19-14 with 5:04 left in the first half. The Tigers scored their first two touchdowns on a 97-yard kickoff return and a 45-yard touchdown pass while the Stallions ran 22 plays to score three touchdowns...
