After a remarkable outing in its previous meet, the Madera South boys cross country team had to turn its attention to the Roosevelt Rough Rider Invitational.
Stallion head coach Rich Parris was hoping that his team wouldn’t have a major letdown in its latest meet after a record-setting day on Oct. 12 at Fresno’s Woodward Park.
It was there that the Stallions finished second overall in the Clovis Invitational — behind the nation’s No. 2 team Arcadia — while posting the 23rd best time ever run in the course’s history.
While it wasn’t quite the encore performance that Parris had in mind for his runners, the Stallions nevertheless were all business in the Rough Rider Invite as the boys took first in the Varsity Boys Large Schools race while the girls placed fourth overall Friday...
