The Madera South Stallion boys basketball team found itself locked in a tight game against an unknown opponent from the north.
However, when all was said and done, Madera South head coach Jody Sharp went to a pressure defense to break through in a 52-36 victory over Southridge Prep School of Surry, British Columbia in Canada.
“We got the vacation blues,” Sharp said. “Our young players need to get over the vacation mindset.”
Southridge, who also played Buchanan-Clovis and Sunnyside-Fresno before playing Madera South and will head down to Los Angeles to catch a UCLA and Los Angeles Lakers basketball game, tied the game at 35-35 early in the fourth quarter.
