Stallions tie Tigers in CMAC battle

After narrowly losing 1-0 in overtime to its cross-town and County/Metro Athletic Conference rival, the Madera South boys soccer team knew it was better than its 0-5 league record indicated.

Since dropping the match to the two-time defending league champ Madera on Jan. 28, the Stallions (4-12-3 overall, 0-5-2 CMAC) showed how competitive they could be and haven’t suffered a loss in the second half of CMAC play with back-to-back 1-1 ties.

After tying at conference-leading Bullard-Fresno (10-7-4 overall, 5-0-2 CMAC) on Friday night, Madera South returned home and battled the Edison-Fresno Tigers (10-7-1, 4-2-1 CMAC) to a 1-1 tie on Tuesday night in Memorial Stadium.

It was a far turnaround from when the Stallions first played the Knights and Tigers in the first round of CMAC play...
