Although the scoreboard showed the Sanger Apaches with an 8-1 match victory over the Madera South Stallions girls tennis team, Stallions coach Jerry Orosco was pleased with the way his team performed.

The Stallions’ lone victory came in No. 5 singles. Angelica Gonzalez won her match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3 for the Stallions’ first singles victory of the season.

“Angelica played one of her most complete games of the season,” Orosco said. “She was moving her feet and positioning herself well. She didn’t get down on herself. She played positive throughout the match.”

The Stallions play at Madera today in a County/Metro Athletic Conference contest...
