The Madera South boys basketball team outscored the McLane-Fresno Highlanders 29-11 in the second and third quarterS to coast to a 60-35 victory.
“It was better than our last game,” head coach Jody Sharp said. “We reduced our turnovers, but they didn’t put us in situations where we were pressured. McLane was passive and played into what we were doing defensively.”
In the second and third quarter, Madera South’s full-court press created havoc for the Highlanders. The Stallions forced 15 turnovers in the two quarters and 25 for the game. On the other side, Madera South only had 12 turnovers for the game and just four in the second half.
“Our full-court press helped us get some steals and create some turnovers, which gave us more shot opportunities. I think our press did a good job related to that.”...
