Stallions sweep past SJM Panthers

Fresh off a road win, the Madera South boys volleyball team came in ready to complete the County/Metro Athletic Conference sweep of San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno.

Just like in the previous meeting between the two young clubs, the Stallions were too much for the Panthers to handle in a 3-0 win Thursday evening at Madera South. 

  “We smashed them!” Stallion head coach Steve Guglielmana said playfully of his team’s 25-12, 25-15, 25-19 victory. “It was about the same from the last time we played them at Memorial on April 9.”

After picking up a Tuesday victory at an Edison-Fresno team that swept them 2-0 in the semifinals of the Central Valley Challenge Tournament at Madera South, the Stallions returned home to play a Memorial program that is struggling to field teams and only had one senior on its roster...
