Stallions slip in 3-0 loss to Panthers

After earning its first County/Metro Athletic Conference win in thrilling fashion, the Madera South girls soccer team came out noticeably flat against San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno.

The Panthers picked up their first CMAC win as they handed the Stallions (5-8, 1-2 CMAC) a 3-0 loss Tuesday night at Memorial Stadium. 

Madera South entered the game coming off a 2-1 last-minute win over the Edison-Fresno Tigers last Thursday but seemed out of sync against Memorial.

  “It’s called victory disease,” Stallion head coach Patrick Evans said. “It seems after every victory we come out flat. We did it with the Bullard-Fresno game after beating Sunnyside-Fresno. I think it’s a reflection of our youth and I know it haunts us. For every game we play well, we follow it up with a game that is not played well.”...
